What is an electric dipole?

An electric dipole occurs when electrons in an atom split and move to opposite ends of the atom. This causes one end to have a different charge than the other end.

How can you make one and how does it react with the electrophorous?

An electrophorus is designed to gather and hold large amounts of static charge for the purpose of experiments. The device consists of a metal surface and a non-conductive handle. The device can be charged either through induction or conduction and its charge is held, as long as you only hold it by the handle.
